What this means
What this compares. Running 5 km in this air draws in about as much fine particulate as running 35 km would on a day at the WHO reference. Same route, same effort, same pace: only the air changed.
What it does not mean. It is not a measurement of your body, a dose, a health risk, or a recommendation about whether to run. It compares air, not people.
Where the number comes from. Malaysia’s DOE publishes an API index, not a concentration, so PM2.5 is derived from DOE’s own published sub-index and labelled as derived. For health guidance during haze, see the Ministry of Health advisory.
What this counts. No accounts and no cookies. We keep anonymous counts only: how many people ran the comparison, which station and distance they picked, and whether they shared. Your browser stores one random id so a repeat visit is not counted twice. No personal data, and no IP address is stored.
